TechCrunch has news about a clever anti-abuse billboard ad literally aimed at kids. Lenticular lenses have been used before to change an image as a viewer passes by. This is the first time I’ve heard of them being used to target children. Spanish organization the ANAR Foundation (Aid to Children and Adolescents at Risk) recently released a campaign that makes use of Lenticular lenses to display a message to viewers under 4’5″. The message says, “If somebody hurts you, phone us and we’ll help you,” along with a confidential number to call the Spanish organization, Aid to Children and Adolescents. Obviously, the ad is designed for children traveling with their abuser. While clever, I’m not sure how practical these billboards are. Surely, the child would not be aware that the adult with them can’t see the message. But, this ad is getting noticed. If it can raise awareness of child abuse, that’s a good thing.
