BlackBerry surprised investors by not losing more money yesterday. According to Forbes, “Analysts had expected BlackBerry to report a loss equating to 30 cents a share for the fourth quarter, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Instead it posted a profit of 22 cents a share.” BlackBerry reports that they have sold 1 million Z10 phones (their new touchscreen device). While this is good news for Blackberry, keep in mind that Apple sold 27.4 million iPhone 5 units in the third quarter of 2012. Now that Blackberry has possibly stabilized, perhaps they can focus on making up lost ground.
