Google announced a new product on Wednesday called Chromecast. In a nutshell, it’s the web on your TV for only $35. That is perhaps an oversimplification, but the Chromecast is a small dongle-type device that attaches to your TV using an HDMI connector. If you have a flat panel type TV, you probably have an HDMI port on it. Chromecast then picks up wireless ethernet video signals. You’ll be able to watch YouTube, Netflix and listen to Pandora. The Chromecast also promises to make life easier for content creators like myself. I should be able to provide a simple button on my web site that will allow you, dear viewer, to easily stream WeTalkNerdy.tv episodes directly to your TV. Both Google and Amazon are sold out. I’ve got mine on order and it should be here in early August. I’m sure I’ll be doing an episode on it soon!
